The history of the Oceanographic Museum of Salammbô "DAR EL HOUT" dates from the beginning of the 20th century. It was built in 1924 on a site described as being one of most beautiful and more symbolic sites of Tunisia: near the ruins of antique Carthage, the palace of Suffétes of the Sea. On the directives of President Zine El Abidine Ben ALI, a big effort was undertaken to restore and modify the rooms of the Museum so that they present, to the public, the wonders of the sea in a pedagogical and spectacular order. Thus this place of history and science will continue to work towards the conservation of national maritime heritage and towards the progress of research and knowledge.

I don't have any guides of this Museum. Does any body know if they made any guides? And where I can get some guides of the Museum?

In the years 1949, 1974 and 1999 they had theire anniversarrys. Have they made any books on this occassion?
