The zoo has animals collected from more than 40 different countries. When Maharaja used to travel to the various countries, he used to collect various rare animals and bring them to this zoo. Sometimes even the exchanges of animals use to take place with another country. Presently the zoo houses many native Indian animals such as white tiger, Royal Bengal tiger, giraffe, elephants, Himalayan black bear, fallow deer, white peafowl, gaur and Indian rhino. Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden however was the first to obtain penguins and gorilla in India.

I don't have any guides of this zoo. Does any body know if they made any guides? And where I can get any guides those?
In the years 1917, 1942, 1967, 1992 and 2017 they had theire anniversarrys. Have they made any books on this occassion?
