The Arthropodarium is a thematic area of the zoo where visitors can experience and marvel at the fantastic world of entomology. Here you will find bugs all over the world, to impress you with their shapes, sizes and colors
In the Aviaria you look up to walk the path of the bird and feel the pleasure of seeing flying ibis, but pay attention, the doves are flapping their wings among the people to move from one tree to another. To learn about our feathered friends, visitors have the opportunity to enter this huge aviary of 1,000 m2 in area, covered by a net suspended 11 meters high. 24 species of birds flit among the lush vegetation
The Baby Zoo is a peting zoo with animals like a cow and a llama
The Herpetarium is the most important of Chile with about 60 species are exhibited in 58 different sizes terrariums specially designed to assess the habitat and habits of the reptile world
The Mayan ruins penetrates into the dense jungle to identify those responsible for the sounds hidden in the foliage. A chorus of parrots, parrots and parakeets flutter from branch to branch and, as you go, pygmy marmosets, smaller than the palm of a hand, look at you with curiosity. Opened in late June 2003, the Maya jungle represents the efforts to provide the animals a better quality of life. With temperature and humidity typical of tropical climate, the 10 species housed in this building replicas wander among Mayan ruins overrun by vines.
Wrap yourself in the dark of night in the Nocturama to meet some of its mysterious inhabitants. Owls fly silently to surprise their prey and ferrets tunnels traverse the gallery of your home, while the tireless Hedgehogs are among the litter. Before joining the Nocturama have to accustom the eyes to see the 12 species that inhabit it. Inside the building, day and night lighting invest through special and visitors discover the activity of animals that sleep during daylight hours.
In the smal aquarium you meet several species of fish frome the rivers of Chile and the Amazone river
And don't mis the Buin Marino, where there daily are penguin and sealion shows.
Out side the zoo is entered in to geographical zones. These are the African with Lions and Hippos, The South American with Black Howler Monkeys and Jaguars, the Asian with Bengal tigers and Red Kangaroos, the European with Fallow Deers and Red Foxes, and of course a Chilean one with the Andenean Condor and the Pudu
