Ogród Fauny Polskiej ZOO (Polish Wildlife Zoo) is located in Forest Park of Culture and Recreation. It covers an area of 14 hectares. The decision was taken for its construction in 1970, but it was officially opened 19th July 1978. The petting area, the so-called mini-zoo, was founded in 1990 and gives especially the youngest the possibility of direct contact with animals. In 2004 it opened a new department, "Places of the World" with species representing different continents. Here you find the habitat of the ringtailed lemurs, meerkats and Japanese macaques. In 2005, opened the so-called. "Miniterrarium" with an exposures of amphibians and reptiles, and a classroom.
Standing in front of the entrancebuilding we are seein a small terrarium, afterwards we are paying the entrance fee. The we are turning left and are looking at the carnivore area with Brown Bears, Wolfs and the Lynx. Across we are having the Griffon Vulture and behinde the Lynx som aviarys for waterfowls. Following the main road we now meet the Wisent, the Roe, the Fallow deer and the Moos. . If you can turn right, there is a big enclosure for the Red Deer, but often its closed. Back on the mainroad we are seeing the Wild-boar and following the road to the left, where after a small time meet goats. On th left hand we are then having the mini-zoo and on the right mostly animals like the Zebra and ostrch, as well as the Emu and Rea. On the right hand we are having the small carnivores, showing animals like the Red Fox and the Wild Cat. On the left hand we are having the Ringtailed Lemur and the Red-necked Wallaby. Now comming to the lake are we meet waders like the Northern Lapwing, the Otter and the Cormorant, as well as the geeses and ducks living on the big lake. Now turning right we are having birds of preys and owls on the right and left hand. The last enclosure befor we are going to exit is for the Japanese Macaque.
