Most species kept in a zoo is native to Brazil and represents the fauna that inhabit the regions of Guarulhos and endangered species like the jaguar, the puma, the hyacinth macaw and the king vulture. The park area also has a population of free-living animals, most of those who frequent the lakes and areas of the forest in search of food and shelter, giving visitors the opportunity to observe several species such as tanagers, thrushes, parakeets, hummingbirds visiting flowers and herons.
