Through the sea, think about man and earth's future.
The place at which the Kuroshio(Black Current) and Oyashio(Kurile Current) meet, is at Shiome Sea. "Aquamarine Fukushima" with its theme of Shiome as its highlight, is a new type of sea museum that gives you various answers about the undiscovered oceanic wonder. In addition to the main aquarium, that has as its core feature, Shiome's big water tank which allows you to enjoy the sun's rays cast upon the water, there are also a science museum and a botanical garden facilities. Aquamarine Fukushima tells us the future of human beings and earth, the relationship between humans and nature, the preciousness of our lives, and the importance of protecting our natural environment through learning about the sea. Aquamarine Fukushima has a very unique appearance.
By using wrap-around glass to enclose all of the facilities, the museum can receive full sunlight through all of the 4 floors which have been designed, "The Shiome Sea" as its highlight. In our home town, Fukushima's rivers flow downstream towards the Shiome Sea to meet with the Kuroshio and the Oyashio Currents. 1200 species of animals and plants are waiting for you, to take you to a wonderful world where all of their lives are sparkling..
