Saitama Children's Zoo, which is located on a vast green hill, is a place constructed on the theme of communing with animals, where children and adults can enjoy themselves. The zoo keeps animals including giraffes, lesser pandas, and koalas as well as rabbits and goats. Visitors can enjoy horse riding, milking cows, and petting rabbits and guinea pigs. As well as this, visitors can walk through kangaroo, capybara, wallaby, and hornbill houses, where they can see the animals up-close. In addition, the zoo offers a variety of animal-related activities and events throughout the year, such as keeper talk shows, where animal keepers provide visitors of information on the animals. Furthermore, the zoo keeps Humboldt penguins in the zoo's penguin hills, among the largest in the world, where a natural environment close to the penguins' habitat in Chile is reproduced.
