The River Aquarium of Zaragoza was one of the thematic pavilions of Expo 2008 and was designed by architect Álvaro Planchuelo. It hosted the exhibition Landscapes of the Water. The River Aquarium has a capacity of around three million liters of water and hosts 300 different species. In the aquarium you can see the different ecosystems of the five major river basins: Ebro, Nile, Amazon, Mekong and Murray-Darling. Besides fish the river aquarium also is home to some reptiles and small monkeys
